This song is for the kids who grow up in church and don't understand how blessed they are. It's like someone who has been given everything they could ever need to live well, but instead chooses to live in poverty and sickness.
Everyday God saves people who have found themselves in terrible circumstances, be it drugs, alcohol, depression, etc. and they testify of the amazing power of the blood of Jesus. And yet kids who grew up in the house of God ignore those stories and go into the world and seek out those very circumstances that people are fleeing...
I realize that we all have different experiences growing up in church, and I understand that a parent, teacher, pastor, etc. who behaves hypocritically can do a lot of damage to a person’s faith. But if your faith is in Jesus then He can help you weather those difficult experiences.
Whatever you’re looking for to satisfy your soul won’t be found in this world. True peace can only be found in Jesus.
